It's the first day of our extended daily schedule (17 more minutes each day through the end of the year to make up a few of the days we missed in January and February), and it's also a Monday. All the more reason to start our day with F-U-N activity! We're learning about physical science this month and are focusing on how temperature changes affect people and food. Today's lesson was all about how temperature changes affect juice. To illustrate this concept, we read our ULS Chapter 4 and got to work making popsicles...
The kids are still loving using our classroom iPads to read through each chapter and answer comprehension questions.
They're getting really independent at completing their work and sending it to their individual Google Drive folders.
When we finished with the "work", it was time for some fun! We got started making by making fruit punch...
We measured carefully!
Then poured and stirred...
And stirred some more...
we talked about how the sugar dissolves into the water...
Then, after pouring our juice into small cups, popped our soon-to-be popsicles into the freezer.
Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion to our experiment! We'll be back soon with the analysis and, of course, the taste testing!
