I posted recently about our community-based instruction trips to an adapted gymnastics class at a local gym, and the pictures from the second class were just so great, I thought it warranted a second post! I think you can really tell from the pictures if you haven't already noticed from the million times I've said it I have the best.class.ever.
Here is a fun one of my instructional assistants and me. I just can't say enough good things about these ladies. They make our classroom a warm, inclusive place, and their dedication to our students is almost palpable.
This blurry shot made me so happy! This student was very tentative on the tumble trak the first few times. After getting the hang of it, he bounced and laughed his way all the way to the foam pit!
Here's our fabulous physical therapist, Mrs. C., helping one of my students bounce on the trampoline. I love that this kiddo fell down and found a new way to bounce!
The student below posed for this quick pic between bounces. Beautiful smile, don't you think?
We got to use all of the equipment during our lesson- this student definitely tried EVERYTHING! Big grin the whole time- total daredevil!
The rings and mat tunnel were a big hit!
I was floored at how each of my students was able to walk the high balance beam. This beam was great because of its extended width. The kids showed great care and balance as they walked across the beam!
My favorite shot of the day. These boys are AWESOME.
These classes are amazing for our group- not only do the adults kids get a chance to unwind and have fun, but they are also able to practice gross motor skills, dressing skills (shoes on/off, coats on/off), following directions, social interaction skills and independent living skills (finding the restroom, asking for help). We are thankful for these opportunities and love every single minute!
