School Safety: A Visit From Officer S

We are a middle school with a designated resource officer in our building every day. Officer S is our go-to for all things safety, so when we were studying rules and laws last month, we thought it would be a good idea to have him come visit our classroom to talk about safety at school, at home and out in the community.

Here's Officer S showing us all the different tools he uses for his job.
We asked great questions about how he keeps us safe!

Here's our group along with the other Lifeskills class and our FAP (functional academics) class.
We used technology to help us ask questions about Officer S's police car, uniform and job duties. Below a student is using an app called Touch Chat to help him ask a question.
Officer S is a great resource for our class- he's always willing to answer questions, stop by and say hello and help our when we need an extra set of hands.
We've visited the local police station before, but it's always nice to have Officer S come visit to remind us how important it is to follow the rules not only at school but across all environments. He reminds us how lucky we are to have helpers in our world!
