A Letter to My Instructional Assistants

"Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love."
Lao Tzu

Dear WONDERFUL IAs,

As the end of the school year draws near,
I want you to know
a couple of very important things:

You are the glue that holds
 our classroom together.

Our students' parents know your value.

It is so clear from your interactions with our students what kind hearts you have.

This can be the best job in the world, but there are some really tough days. Thank you for coming back after the roughest ones.

The kids are growing because of your support.

I love that both of you have a sense of humor and are not afraid to get down and dirty with our kids (case in point, swimming!).

I value your feedback and your opinions.

I no longer PANIC worry when I have to be out of the classroom, because I know you are both there.

There are so many times where I am impressed by how you both handle difficult situations with grace and professionalism.

I see kindness and respect in your interactions with our students.

I am better at my job because of the support I receive from you.

THANK YOU, MS. J. and MRS. N.!

Sincerely,
Mrs. R.
