The first morning after we "Spring" forward can feel excruciating really long, so it's always a good idea to shake things up with a fun activity. We're studying Physical Science and were beginning to talk about how body temperature can change and why. We did our usual routine of reading the ULS chapter on our iPads in iBooks (free app alert!) ...
Then we answered comprehension questions about the chapter in Notability.
And then came the fun!
We talked about how you measure body temperature then broke out a borrowed thermometer (yes, we used plastic sheaths) and took temperatures.
NO ONE WAS SPARED!
This was my favorite picture from the day. HILARIOUS! This student really got into the activity!
Here are some more shots of the fun!
We also practiced reading our temperatures. Everyone was within normal limits!
We learned a lot about body temperature, how to treat a fever and how to use a thermometer...nothing better than a lesson where everyone is having so much fun they don't even realize they're learning! It was exactly what we needed today!
