Geo Fair: Friday Sneak Preview!

This afternoon our class is participating in a science fair of sorts called the Geo Fair. Our seventh grade team, Key West, and another team, Everglades, have worked very hard this month to create presentations about the newly discovered Keppler-22B planet. The presentations will be judged by two renowned local geologists. Our class has been studying Canada and Mexico this month, so we thought we'd join in and present what we've learned, focusing on the geography, animals and climate of the two regions. The Geo Fair will take place later today, but I thought I'd give you a sneak peak at how we've been preparing!

The kids were divided; half of our class focused on Mexico while the other class focused on Canada.
We worked with peers to color flags and maps from our assigned country.
It all started to come together!
We assembled our materials on poster boards that will be displayed at the Geo Fair. For the first time in almost 10 years of teaching EVERY student in the class brought in materials from home for this project. I am proud to have parents that are so invested in what we're doing in the classroom!
After a few dry runs, we're ready to present. Wish us luck!

Stay tuned for more next week!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
